UPDATE2: Fire at Uralkali’s potash salt mine in Perm Reg liquidated

MOSCOW, Oct 16 (PRIME) -- A fire at Russian fertilizer maker Uralkali’s Solikamsk potash salt mine in the Perm Region has been fully liquidated, and the mine will resume its operations soon, representatives of the region’s emergency services and Uralkali said on Monday.
“The full liquidation of fire at 2:28 p.m. Moscow time,” a spokesperson for the emergency services told PRIME.
A representative of Uralkali said, “As of 3:50 (1:50 p.m. Moscow time) the source of smoke has been localized and liquidated, preventive measures (ventilation) are currently being held. Operations of the underground complex will resume in the near future.”
Plastic pipes caught fire at the depth of 400 meters.
Uralkali said earlier that no one was hurt in the incident; 287 miners were brought to the surface and 10 employees will remain in the mine to service elevators.
